President Draupadi Murmu’s initiatives in Odisha signal a major leap in regional connectivity and tribal development, showcasing the government’s commitment to inclusive progress.

BADAMPAHAR – In a landmark event on Tuesday, President Draupadi Murmu took significant strides to improve connectivity in Odisha.

She inaugurated the Rairangpur Postal Division, a major development in postal services, highlighting the ongoing relevance of India Post despite the rise of digital communication.

The President also released a special cover commemorating the new postal division, marking the occasion as a historic moment for the region.

Enhancing Rail Connectivity

Murmu flagged off the Badampahar – Tatanagar MEMU, Badampahar – Rourkela Weekly Express, and Badampahar – Shalimar Weekly Express.

These new trains are expected to facilitate easier travel between Odisha and neighboring states, boosting both local and industrial connectivity.

The redevelopment of the Badampahar Railway Station was also initiated, promising improved facilities and services for passengers.

Focus on Tribal Development

In her address, President Murmu emphasized the Union Government’s dedication to tribal communities.

She highlighted a significant budget increase for tribal development, emphasizing the government’s commitment to inclusive growth.

The President urged tribal youth to utilize government schemes for self-advancement, stressing the importance of personal effort in development.

PM JANMAN: A Step Towards Tribal Progress

The President mentioned the launch of PM JANMAN (PM- Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan) on Janjatiya Gaurav Divas.

This initiative aims to empower tribal communities and is seen as a pivotal step towards their progress.

Murmu expressed confidence that PM JANMAN would connect tribal populations with broader development goals.

Personal Reflections and Journey

In a heartfelt moment, President Murmu, originally from Odisha, reflected on her journey from a small village to holding the highest office in the country.

She emphasized her continuous connection to Odisha, proudly identifying herself as the daughter of its soil.

The President concluded her visit by traveling on the newly inaugurated Badampahar – Shalimar Express, symbolizing the new journey embarked upon by the region.
