Indian Railways Achieves Record-Breaking Revenue and Freight Loading in FY 2023-24

Indian Railways sets a new benchmark with the highest freight loading and revenue in its history during the financial year 2023-24, outpacing previous records.

NEW DELHI – Indian Railways has eclipsed its previous performance records, showcasing an unparalleled trajectory in freight business and total revenue.

In the current fiscal year, daily track laying has surpassed 14 kilometers, totaling 5100 kilometers. The number of passengers has increased by 52 crores, reaching 648 crores. The total expenditure recorded stands at Rs 2.26 lakh crores. Indian Railways’ revenue has hit a monumental Rs 2.40 lakh crores, marking a significant rise from the last year.

Financial Milestones

The financial achievements of Indian Railways this year include a noteworthy increase in total revenue. Compared to last year’s Rs 2.23 lakh crores, the revenue now stands at Rs 2.40 lakh crores.

Operational Excellence

This year, Indian Railways has not only focused on expanding its network but also on enhancing its operational efficiency. The introduction of 5100 kilometers of new tracks is a testament to its commitment.
