NIT Jamshedpur among seven institutes to receive a portable anechoic chamber from JV Micronics.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a significant development for the academic and research community, NIT Jamshedpur was awarded a portable anechoic chamber by JV Micronics.

This prestigious award was presented in the presence of the Defence Minister of State, Shri Ajay Bhatt, marking a notable achievement for the institute.

The announcement came during the IEEE International Conference MAPCON 2022 in Bengaluru, where M/s. JV Micronics declared their intent to provide some anechoic chambers free of cost to Academic Institutions.

Out of 58 institutes that submitted proposals, NIT Jamshedpur, represented by Dr. Surajit Kundu, Assistant Professor in the ECE Department and a participant of MAPCON 2022, was one of the seven selected institutes.

At an event organized by JV Micronics, Ajay Bhatt, serving as the Chief Guest, felicitated Prof. (Dr.) Goutam Sutradhar, Director of NIT Jamshedpur.

Shri Mahesh Kala, CEO of JV Micronics, also honored the institute at the event.

Expressing his gratitude, Prof. Sutradhar highlighted the significant benefits the anechoic chamber would bring to RF engineers, researchers, and faculty members, particularly for experimental measurements of antennas and high-frequency circuit components.

He also commended Dr. Surajit Kundu for his pivotal role in acquiring the anechoic chamber for the institute’s project laboratory.

He also added that this contribution is a boon for NIT Jamshedpur, positioning it as a leading center for research and innovation in high-frequency engineering and related fields.
