Tata Steel Jamshedpur Works installs solar power project of 1.17MWp

Jamshedpur: Tata Steel Jamshedpur works witnessed installation of third rooftop solar power project of 1.17 MWp capacity at the Wire Rod Mill.

The facility was inaugurated by Chaitanya Bhanu, Vice President, Steel Manufacturing, Tata Steel at Wire Rod Mill inside Jamshedpur works. This project has been commissioned by Tata Power under the larger agreement with Tata Steel for installation of total 41MW at various location with a combination of roof top, floating and ground mounted solar panels.

It may be recalled that the first rooftop solar project of 2.2 MWp was commissioned in September 2022 and the second rooftop solar project of 1.73 MWp was commissioned in October 2022.
