Yuva Leads Campaign Against Gender Violence
Jharkhand Marks International Day for Disabled Persons
Yuva’s 16-day campaign spotlights equality and rights for the disabled in Jharkhand.
JAMSHEDPUR – On the tenth day of the 16-day campaign against gender violence, the social organization Yuva (Youth Unity for Voluntary Action), along with Women Gaining Ground Consortium and CREA New Delhi, hosted an expression function on the International Day for Disabled Persons.
The event, themed ‘Equality from Inequality, Everyone Counts Equally’, took place at the district level.
Distinguished guests, including Dr. Vishweshwar Yadav, Assistant Professor Ashok Kumar Rawani, and Jharkhand Disabled Forum officials Narendra Kumar and Arun Kumar, were present.
The function was inaugurated symbolically by pouring water into a sapling, signifying growth and nurturing.
Youth Secretary Varnali Chakraborty emphasized the campaign’s objective, advocating for the right to self-expression and breaking societal barriers.
The event highlighted the importance of inclusion for girls, women, and disabled individuals, emphasizing the elimination of discrimination.
Participants from Potka block shared their experiences and performed dances, showcasing their talents and perspectives.
Epic Beauty Parlor’s contribution, offering makeovers for disabled women and girls, added a celebratory and inclusive touch to the function.
The function, conducted by Anjana Devgam, was a collaborative success, with youth members playing a key role.
