Tata Motors’ Jamshedpur plant to remain closed for five days

Block closure and holidays announced due to low work orders and high production

Tata Motors’ Jamshedpur plant is set to remain non-operational for five consecutive days, starting from March 30, due to a combination of block closures and holidays.

JAMSHEDPUR – The company has announced a block closure on March 30, followed by a Sunday holiday on March 31.

Additionally, employees have been given leave on April 1, which will be compensated by working on a later date.

Further block closures have been scheduled for April 2 and 3.

Tata Cummins has already implemented a total block closure of five days.

The block closures will have a significant impact on the employees’ salaries, as they will receive only half their daily wage for the days affected.

The management will bear the other half of the salary.

The decision to implement block closures and holidays has been attributed to low work orders and excessive production.

Circulars regarding the closures have been issued to the heads of all sections under the signature of Plant Head Ravindra Kulkarni.

The move is expected to have an adverse impact on the Adityapur Industrial Town and may affect business in the region.

The block closures have been announced both at the end of the old financial year, i.e., until March 31, and at the beginning of the new financial year in April.
