Woman’s dead body found in Kharkai river

Jamshedpur: A woman’s dead body was found floating in Kharkai river under the jurisdiction of Bistupur police station of Jamshedpur on Sunday morning.

The news spread like a wildfire and the locals started gathering around the place.

Locals also conveyed the information to the Bistupur and Adityapur police stations.

At the same time, due to jurisdiction issues, the police of both the districts remained confused for some time as to which police station should get the dead body taken out.

However, later, on the instructions of Adityapur police station in-charge, a team was sent to Kharkai river and the body was rescued with the help of local divers.

The dead body indicates that the deceased is a woman and that she might have been an elderly person.

The discovery of a woman’s body from the river water caused quite a commotion in the area.

After a lot of efforts, local divers were successful in taking the dead body out of the waters.

For now, the body is in the possession of Adityapur police station. The body appears to be that of an elderly woman. The locals were unable to identify the body and the police suspect that the dead body might have been carried out by the waters from somewhere else.
