Dulal Bhuiyan is president of East Singhbhum Central Durga Puja Committee
Shambhu Choudhary has been elected the new vice-president of Puja Committee. Both Dulal Bhuiyan and Shambhu Choudhary were elected unanimously.
Jamshedpur: The former minister Dulal Bhuiyan has been made the new president of East Singhbhum Central Durga Puja Committee.
Both the president and secretary, Narayan Pal and Ambika Banerjee respectively, had died due to corona.
Owing to the demise of both the president and the secretary, the two posts have been lying vacant.
On Wednesday, the former minister Dulal Bhuiyan was elected the president of the committee unanimously.
The post of general secretary is still vacant.
Shambhu Choudhary has been made the new vice-president.
The members of Central Durga Puja Committee garlanded the new president nad the vice-president by garlanding them.
The new president of the committee Dulal Bhuiyan said that it is good that a dalit has been given the responsibility of heading the Central Durga Puja Committee.
He said that he would soon meet the DC, SSP and the SDO and apprise them with the problems being faced by the Durga Puja Committees in the rural areas.
He said that Durga Puja is drawing nearer and he would meet the Chief Minister Hemant Soren soon to request him to ensure that Bhog is allowed to be made in Pandal itself.
