Guard Of Honour given to deceased Home Guard jawan, dependant to get job

Jamshedpur: A home guard Dadan Pandey, deployed at MGM Hospital died Friday night at TMH during treatment.

His body was brought to the Sakchi Garam Nala Home Guard Headquarters and was handed over to the relatives after a guard of honour.

Later, the family members took the dead body to his native village Siwan for cremation.

The Home Guard Dy SP Ashok Kumar gave a financial assistance of Rs 10,000 to the family members.

Along with this, the dependents of the jawan were assured that a compensation of two lakhs will also be given.

The former Home Guard Secretary Kamal Sharma said that for the first time after the death of a Home Guard jawan in the line of duty, a guard of honour was given at the office.

He said that all Home Guard jawans were happy with the way the department honoured a departed home guard.

Kamal Sharma said that that the deceased home guard was poor. If the deceased jawan had the resources, he could have got better treatment.

He said that due to death on duty, a dependent of the jawan would also be given a job.

He said that this initiative of Jharkhand Home Guard Welfare Association Department was appreciated.

Along with this, compensation and a compassionate job should be made available to the dependents of the deceased jawan without any delay, he said.

The Home Guard jawans of Jharkhand have been agitating for the last several years for better compensation and treatment for themselves.
