BOKARO – A student of Delhi Public School Bokaro has emerged as the joint national topper in the science stream of the CBSE Class 12 board examination following a revaluation of his answer sheets.
Aditya Mishra’s overall percentage rose from 99.20 to 99.60 after the re-evaluation process. His marks in biology increased from 96 to 99, pushing his total score to 498 out of 500.
Mishra had earlier been declared the Jharkhand state topper before the revised result placed him jointly at the top nationally. He now shares the national first rank with Sonakshi Goyal, a student from Kanpur.
The CBSE Class 12 results had initially been declared last month before the revaluation window altered several students’ scores nationwide. Several students across Jamshedpur had also sought similar score reviews this year.
DPS Bokaro principal Dr. A.S. Gangwar honored Mishra for his achievement. He described the result as a moment of pride for the school, for Bokaro and for the state of Jharkhand.
Meanwhile, Mishra said he wants to become a doctor and serve humanity in the future. He credited his success to the guidance of his parents and teachers.
The CBSE had earlier reduced revaluation fees for students opting for answer sheet verification this year. Other students in the state have also gained from the revised evaluation process this season, including Jamshedpur’s Taranjot Kaur.
In April, a student from Hazaribagh, Priyanshu, had become the JAC Class 10 state topper with a similar score. Besides board exam results, students across the state have also been preparing for the NEET re-examination this month.
The achievement has created an atmosphere of celebration at DPS Bokaro and across the district.
