SERAIKELA – A clothing store located in Main Road building under Kandra police station caught fire suddenly on Thursday morning causing panic among local residents.
Local people noticed smoke emerging from the shop premises. They immediately informed Kandra police station and Adhunik Power Company. However, the fire quickly took a dangerous form.
The entire building filled with thick smoke within minutes. Moreover, flames spread rapidly throughout the commercial structure. Meanwhile, a family living on the upper floor became trapped.
Local residents rushed to help the stranded family members. They used the adjacent building’s roof as escape route. Furthermore, all family members were safely evacuated from danger.
The quick thinking prevented a major tragedy from occurring. However, the fire continued to rage inside the building. On the other hand, emergency services were contacted immediately.
Adhunik Company’s fire brigade vehicle reached the scene promptly. Firefighters worked hard to control the spreading flames. In addition, they managed to extinguish the fire completely.
The clothing store belongs to Bipin Prasad Gupta from Lahkothi. He operates the business from the Main Road location. Moreover, the shop contained significant inventory worth lakhs.
