MLA demands change of outdated wires and poles
Jamshedpur: The Baharagora MLA Samir Kumar Mohanty met the GM of Jharkhand Bijli Vitaran Nigam Ltd (JBVNL) today in the Forest Guest House in the city and discussed the tragic death of 2 farmers in his constituency due to shoddy wire laying and use of bamboos and wooden poles for distribution of electricity.
The MLA expressed his displeasure at the safety record of the electricity department and called the the death of two people of Bahragora assembly constituency due to electrocution recently as shocking.
The MLA Samir Mahanti held a meeting with the General Manager and raised the issue of shoddy work in laying electric wires and poles in his constituency. area.
Several issues relating to wires and poles were discussed in the meeting.
Mr. Mohanty asked the officials to replace all the old wires in the area, replace the bamboo poles one by one, replace the old transformers, and the electric wires crossing over the river-ponds and other public places.
He also asked them to replace such high risk structures and arrangements immediately.
The MLA told them to visit all the areas and solve the problems of safety hazards existing at the ground level in electricity distribution soon, so that there is no harm caused to the public.
