Police Crack Down on Robbery at Cloth Merchant’s Residence

JAMSHEDPUR – The police have reportedly arrested three suspects, including the mastermind, in connection with a Rs 10 lakh robbery at the residence of cloth merchant Ramesh Kanwatia in Northern Town, Bistupur. The robbery occurred on the night of January 19, when the suspects posed as delivery agents to enter the house.
According to sources, the mastermind, identified as a person from Sitaramdera, along with his accomplice allegedly from Azad Nagar area, executed the crime and later escaped on a motorcycle. According to the police, the suspects abandoned the bike near a BJP leader’s house in Jawahar Nagar Road No. 6 before fleeing to another location.
Breakthrough in Investigation
Police cracked the case using CCTV footage of the getaway tempo. Upon tracking its registration, the arrests were made. Authorities have recovered stolen items, including a gold chain, from the suspects.
Further Interrogations Underway
The investigation is ongoing, with police detaining the mother and brother-in-law of another absconding suspect from Jugsalai. Additional arrests and recoveries are expected as police continue to probe the matter. A formal case disclosure is anticipated on Friday.
