JAMSHEDPUR – Workers linked with Tata Main Hospital and Tinplate Hospital announced an indefinite protest against removal notices issued recently.
Moreover, the protest will begin outside the TMH gate on May 27. Workers associated with Dr. T.C. John Memorial Trust announced the agitation.
Meanwhile, around 51 employees claimed continuous service for nearly 25 years. They worked as pharmacists, drivers, attendants and sanitation staff.
Furthermore, the employees said their work remained permanent in nature. They claimed hospital services depended on their contribution for years.
However, workers alleged removal efforts increased after TMH acquired Tinplate Hospital. They claimed management adopted policies against existing employees afterward.
In addition, the workers said their attendance appeared in hospital registers earlier. They argued this proved their permanent employment status.
Moreover, the employees submitted objections before the TMH administration earlier. Copies also reached the deputy labour commissioner in Jamshedpur.
However, workers claimed the matter remained under official consideration. Despite this, they alleged termination notices were issued unlawfully.
Besides, employees described the dispute as a survival struggle. They feared losing income after decades of continuous hospital service.
Meanwhile, workers said families could face severe financial hardships afterward. Therefore, they confirmed indefinite demonstrations from May 27.
Furthermore, the protest will continue before the TMH entrance daily. Workers demanded cancellation of the removal notices immediately.
