Launch of Community Engagement Drive to Combat Dengue

Tata Steel UISL has announced a comprehensive Community Engagement Drive on World Dengue Day to combat dengue.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited (Tata Steel UISL) has launched a drive to fight dengue, highlighting the importance of community involvement.

The drive features a special awareness session and the slogan “Palti Maar,” encouraging citizens to search for and eliminate mosquito breeding sources.

Present at the event were Dr. Jujhar Majhi, Civil Surgeon cum CMO, East Singhbhum, R. K. Singh, General Manager, Town O&M, and Dr. Vijaya Jha, Senior Registrar at Tata Main Hospital, along with other health officials and school authorities.

Citizen Responsibilities

Residents are urged to conduct weekly inspections and turn over containers where mosquitoes may breed, preventing the spread of adult mosquitoes.

Participants can upload pictures of their inspections through a QR code to win gifts from Tata Steel UISL.

The initiative aims to raise awareness and promote preventive measures against dengue.

“The involvement of every citizen is crucial for the success of this initiative,” said Dr. Jujhar Majhi.

Campaign Details

The slogan “Abki Bar, Palti Maar” emphasizes the importance of weekly inspections.

Over 300 banners will be placed across the city, and live samples of mosquito larvae and pupae will be displayed to educate participants on the mosquito life cycle.

“This campaign is designed to ensure that everyone understands their role in preventing dengue,” stated R. K. Singh.

Importance of Community Participation

Community involvement is crucial for the success of dengue control measures.

The combined efforts of the community and the Public Health and Sanitation department can significantly reduce the mosquito population and the incidence of dengue.

Quiz Winners Announced

The event also announced ten lucky winners of the dengue quiz held on June 7th.

The winners are Suman Kumar Mitra, Soma Shaw, Khalid Anjum, Suraj Kumar, Sahil Kumar, Usha Devi, Vikash Kumar, Sourimya Pratihar, Rajiv Sharma, and Rishabh Chaudhary.
