Jamshedpur Administration Ramps Up Dengue Prevention Measures

DC Ananya Mittal Directs Hospitals To Cap Test Costs At Rs 300, Reserve Beds

Quick Response Teams formed as five cases detected in past five days.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Deputy Commissioner, Ananya Mittal, has issued directives to address the dengue outbreak in Jamshedpur after five cases were detected in the past five days.

"All hospitals must reserve two beds for dengue patients and charge no more than Rs 300 for tests," Mittal stated after meeting health officials.

Key measures include:

  • Formation of Quick Response Teams (QRT)

  • Deployment of contact tracing teams to identify larvae hotspots

  • Mandatory dengue testing kit availability in all hospitals

  • Strict action against hospitals overcharging for tests

Urban officials ordered to conduct fogging and awareness campaigns in city areas.

"We’ve formed a special team in Mango Municipal Corporation for dengue prevention," said Deputy Municipal Commissioner Suresh Yadav.

Houses found with dengue larvae face Rs 500 fine, with legal action for repeat offenses.

The administration advises residents to eliminate standing water, use mosquito nets, and seek immediate medical care for symptoms.

This proactive approach aims to prevent a dengue outbreak as monsoon season approaches Jamshedpur.
