Rising Dengue Cases Alarm East Singhbhum District

East Singhbhum Sees Surge in Dengue; 24 New Cases Reported, Total 122.

JAMSHEDPUR – East Singhbhum district is witnessing a rapid rise in dengue cases.

Maximum 24 cases have been reported on Monday out of which 14 are suspected.

Samples of all these have been sent to MGM Medical College for examination.

The report is expected to come by Wednesday.

The number of dengue patients has increased to 122 in the district.

Widespread Impact

Dengue is wreaking havoc in East Singhbhum district.

Dengue remained at its peak on Monday.

During this, maximum 24 dengue patients were found in a single day.

At the same time, 14 suspected patients have been found.

The District Surveillance Department has sent samples of all the suspects to the MGM Medical College for examination.

The report is expected to come by Wednesday.

Local Treatment Efforts

The treatment of these patients is going on at Brahmanand and Tinplate Hospital.

At the same time, these patients are residents of Birsanagar, Telco, Golmuri, Baridih, Chhota Govindpur, Mango, and other areas.

Two students of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Medical College and two employees are also included in 24 dengue positive patients.

Apart from this, the patients are residents of Potka, Dumaria, Mango, Bishtupur, Dhatkidih, Chhota Govindpur, Sakchi, Bagbeda, Golpahari, Parsudih, Gemco, Sundernagar.

All these are being treated in other hospitals including TMH, MGM, Sadar, Telco Hospital.

Many patients are also getting treated at their homes.

Institute on Alert

Last Sunday night at NIT Jamshedpur, a student named Bhargav S died of dengue.

After this, the college management is in trouble.

Special guidelines have been issued by the institute to all the departments, health centers, and hostel in-charges.

Expressing grief over the death of the student, the management said that everyone will now have to be on alert mode.

Management hostel in-charges have been instructed to take care of the complete cleanliness of the hostels and the officials of the institute also conduct surprise inspections from time to time.

The staff of the Health Center were in constant touch with the students.

Additional Health Concerns

Two suspected patients of Japanese encephalitis found.

Along with dengue, Chikungunya and Japanese encephalitis (JE) patients are also increasing in the district.

Two suspected patients of JE were found on Monday.

The District Surveillance Department has taken samples of both the patients and sent them to the lab of MGM College for examination.

Suspected Dengue Death Reported

Dengue is spreading rapidly in Jamshedpur.

A 12-year-old girl suffering from fever is suspected to have died of dengue in Govindpur on Tuesday. Although the final report is yet to come, the doctors felt she had the symptoms of dengue.

Zilla Parishad member Paritosh Singh has condoled her death and met her family members.

On the other hand, many patients are coming forward regarding dengue in Jamshedpur.

24 new patients had appeared on Monday, after which the administration was on high alert.
