MEDININAGAR – A comprehensive crime review meeting was held at the Palamu Superintendent of Police (SP) office auditorium, led by SP Reeshma Rameshan. The discussion covered critical issues such as law and order, crime control, public safety, and other key concerns in the district.
Directives for Crime Control
The SP reiterated that preventing crime and ensuring public safety are primary responsibilities. Officers were instructed to expedite pending cases and ensure justice for victims. A detailed review of crimes, including murder, theft, dowry deaths, and cybercrimes, was conducted. Special teams are to be formed to combat rising cybercrime, and prompt action was emphasized.
Addressing Key Challenges
Rameshan highlighted the need for community awareness on cybercrime and outlined steps to monitor suspicious activities. Anti-narcotics operations were discussed, with plans for special drives to curb drug trafficking. Traffic regulations will be strictly enforced to reduce road accidents, accompanied by public awareness campaigns.
Safety at Construction Sites
With ongoing infrastructure projects such as the bypass four-lane road, the SP directed increased monitoring of these areas to deter anti-social activities. Police presence will be intensified, and regular patrolling at construction sites was mandated.
Strengthening Women’s Safety
Special measures were emphasized to curb crimes against women, with the SP urging officers to adopt proactive strategies. Officers were also advised to enhance vigilance in their jurisdictions and foster a sense of security among citizens.
All sub-divisional police officers and station in-charges of the district were present at the meeting.
