JAMSHEDPUR – The city’s Golmuri Golf Course prepares to welcome amateur golfers for a prestigious regional tournament.

The inaugural Eastern Region Golf Tournament for amateurs is set to tee off at Golmuri Golf Course.

Moreover, the two-day event will take place on October 19-20, attracting golfers from various cities.

Participants from Ranchi, Patna, Kolkata, and other locations will join 50 local golfers from Jamshedpur.

Furthermore, Nav Jivan Jyoti, a Ranchi-based NGO, is organizing the tournament with support from key partners.

The Jamshedpur Golf Committee and Coal India Ltd. have joined forces to make this event possible.

"We expect 150 golfers, including 50 from Jamshedpur, to participate," stated Sumit Kumar Mahato, Secretary of Nav Jivan Jyoti.

In addition, the tournament will feature three categories: Ladies, Junior, and Men’s divisions.

Notably, 15 women will be among the participants in this inaugural event.

Meanwhile, Digvijay Singh, CEO of Jamshedpur Golf, shared details about the prizes for winners.

"Top performers in Men’s and Ladies’ categories will receive International Golf Holiday Vouchers," Singh explained.

These vouchers will offer golfing experiences in Thailand and Vietnam for the victorious players.

On the other hand, junior section winners will be awarded trophies for their achievements.

Interestingly, juniors will play on a 9-hole course, while adults will tackle the full 18-hole challenge.

"We aim to foster talent and sportsmanship among eastern region golfers," Mahato emphasized.

Furthermore, the organizers plan to make this an annual event, growing in scope each year.
