  • State-of-the-art facility opened by NIT Director Prof Goutam Sutradhar
  • New centre marks a significant upgrade in campus healthcare infrastructure

JAMSHEDPUR – The National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur took a significant step in strengthening its campus healthcare infrastructure with the inauguration of a Centre for Pathology at its Institute Health Centre. The state-of-the-art diagnostic facility was inaugurated by NIT Jamshedpur Director Prof Goutam Sutradhar.

The new centre is expected to provide students, faculty, and staff on campus with access to essential pathological and diagnostic services within the institute premises itself.

The establishment of a dedicated pathology centre at the Institute Health Centre significantly reduces the need for the campus community to travel to external facilities for routine diagnostic tests. It represents a meaningful upgrade to the quality of healthcare available on campus.

NIT Jamshedpur has been consistently expanding its infrastructure and academic facilities in recent months. The institute had earlier hosted its 15th convocation ceremony, which was attended by President Droupadi Murmu in December 2025.

Director Prof Goutam Sutradhar has been steering several developmental initiatives at the institute. The inauguration of the pathology centre is part of a broader effort to make NIT Jamshedpur a self-sufficient and comprehensive campus for its community.

The institute had also recently inaugurated the 15th National Symposium on Ancient Indian Science and Technology through its Centre for Indian Knowledge System, reflecting its commitment to both modern infrastructure and classical academic pursuits.

NIT Jamshedpur is one of the premier technical institutions in eastern India. It continues to strengthen its standing as a fully equipped residential campus with world-class facilities for its students and academic community in Jamshedpur.
