Jamshedpur Women’s University promotes skill development alongside academics.

Jamshedpur Women’s University is offering job-oriented education to its students, according to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Anjila Gupta.

JAMSHEDPUR – At a seminar organized by the Economics Department on World Population Day, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Anjila Gupta highlighted the significance of education that focuses on employment at Jamshedpur Women’s University.

The seminar, called ‘Balancing Our Future: Sustaining Sustainable Population Growth,’ talked about the importance of students developing their skills.

Dr. Gupta mentioned that the university has recently added certificate courses to their curriculum. These courses are designed to enhance students’ skills and increase their chances of finding employment.

She mentioned that back in 1987, India had a population of five billion and it has been growing ever since.

Unlike developed countries, India has a larger population of young people, with only 5% having received an education.

The event started off with a warm and traditional welcome for all the guests. Dr. Kishwar Ara, the Dean of Student Welfare, then gave a heartfelt welcome speech.

Dr. Somak Biswas, a professor at St. Columba’s University, discussed the importance of prioritizing equity, economy, and ecology.

Some of the other speakers at the event were Proctor Dr. Sudhir Sahu, Registrar Rajendra Jaiswal, and Dr. Ratna Mitra, the Head of the Economics Department.

Ph.D. scholars Sumedha, Shweta Singh, Rituraj, and Sai Bharti had the opportunity to present their papers at the seminar.

Dr. Ratna Mitra graciously delivered the vote of thanks, while Simran skillfully conducted the proceedings.

The event ended with everyone standing up and singing the national anthem.
