Alamgir Alam’s Successor to be Chosen Ahead of Assembly Session, Mantle May Be Taken By Jamshedpur West MLA
The Congress party in Jharkhand is set to elect a new leader for its legislature party on July 7, ahead of the special assembly session starting on July 8. Banna Gupta May Get the Leader’s Role.
RANCHI – With Congress legislative party leader Alamgir Alam currently in jail over a tender commission scam, the party is now gearing up to elect a new leader for the Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha.
As is known, the special assembly session is scheduled to commence on July 8, and the announcement of the new leader will be made to the Speaker on the morning of the same day.
According to sources Banna Gupta, the Jamshedpur West MLA, is the frontrunner for the position.
However, if the party’s high command fails to make a final decision by the deadline, there is a possibility that a senior legislator may be appointed temporarily.
Pradeep Yadav, although a deputy leader in Congress, is still officially recognized as the leader of the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha in the Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha, and this disqualifies him from being considered for this responsibility.
Sources say that the election of the new legislative party leader is crucial for the Congress party as it aims to maintain a stable leadership structure within the Jharkhand assembly.
