MGM Hospital OPD Closed for 7th Day Due to Doctors’ Strike

Protest over Kolkata doctor’s murder continues; emergency cases triple

Doctors at MGM Hospital continue their strike, causing OPD closure for a week amid increased emergency cases.

JAMSHEDPUR – The outpatient services of MGM Hospital have been suspended for the seventh day in a row due to the protests of physicians regarding the recent murder of a female doctor in Kolkata.

The protracted strike has had a substantial impact on the quality of patient care at MGM Hospital.

A dharna is being conducted on the hospital premises by more than sixty physicians.

Signs such as "We want justice" are being chanted by protesters to convey their apprehensions.

The strike was precipitated by the recent rape and murder of a female doctor in Kolkata.

The protest has resulted in the closure of outpatient services (OPD) for a week.

An increase in emergency department visits has resulted from the cessation of OPD services.

The number of emergency cases has increased by threefold since the strike commenced.

The hospital management has implemented measures to address the elevated demand.

In order to accommodate the surge in patient volume, the number of physicians assigned to emergency duty has been doubled.

The objective of this measure is to guarantee that the essential medical care is administered in defiance of the OPD closure.

The hospital’s emergency services are experiencing an additional burden as a result of the protracted strike.

The OPD closure has resulted in challenges for patients who are seeking routine care.
