Jharkhand People’s Party to Contest All 81 Constituencies

JPP Aims to Offer Voters a Third Option in Upcoming Elections

In a bold move, the Jharkhand People’s Party (JPP) announced it will field candidates in all 81 constituencies in the upcoming assembly elections.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Jharkhand People’s Party (JPP) has announced that they plan to compete for all seats in the upcoming state assembly elections. Their goal is to offer a new choice to voters, different from the existing political parties.

Surya Singh Besra, a former MLA and leader of JPP, shared this announcement during a press conference held at Jamshedpur Parishad.

He expressed his criticism towards the major political parties, namely the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Congress, for their failure to fulfill their promises of development.

He claimed that they were taking advantage of Jharkhand’s mineral wealth.

Besra presented the JPP as a realistic choice for voters who want to see some changes.

"We, at JPP, are committed to providing a third option for the people of Jharkhand state," Besra stated.

The party is organizing a 15-day event called ‘Vikalp Yatra’ (Alternative Journey) starting on August 15th. The purpose of this event is to promote political change.

Besra focused specifically on the ruling JMM party, urging Chief Minister Hemant Soren to fulfill the campaign promises that were made in 2019.

He stressed the importance of implementing local and education policies, as well as creating employment opportunities for young people.

"If you’ve made a promise, you’ll have to keep it or else you’ll have to leave the throne," he warned.

The leader of JPP also emphasized the issue of widespread corruption, stating that large sums of money, up to 5 crore rupees, are being used as bribes in high-level appointments.

Besra expressed some criticism towards the major parties, but also mentioned that the JPP is willing to form alliances with smaller parties that have similar ideologies.

As Jharkhand gets closer to celebrating its 24th year as a state, the announcement by the JPP has the potential to make the upcoming elections more exciting and closely contested.
