Police Recover Bike Used in Attack Near Chandil Area

JAMSHEDPUR – Police have arrested a key accused in the 2025 Kapali shooting case and recovered the motorcycle used in the attack.

The arrest marks a major step in the investigation. The incident had triggered panic in the locality.

Meanwhile, the case dates back to September 6, 2025. Armed attackers had opened fire near a factory site.

The attack took place in Kapali OP limits. It falls under the Chandil police station area.

Moreover, the firing targeted Md. Siddiq Khan. He suffered serious injuries during the attack.

However, the incident created fear among local residents. Police registered the case the next day.

On the other hand, investigators had earlier arrested two accused. They were sent to judicial custody.

Meanwhile, police also recovered the weapon used earlier. The probe continued to track remaining suspects.

On Thursday, police arrested Shahbaz Ansari. He is a resident of Ansarnagar Damdubi.

Moreover, he was among the main accused in the case. He had been absconding since the incident.

Based on his confession, police recovered the motorcycle. It is a Hero Splendor with registration JH05DX 1765.

Meanwhile, the accused was produced in court on Friday. He was sent to judicial custody.

The operation was led by Kapali OP in-charge Dheeranjan Kumar. A special team carried out the raid.

The team included investigating officer Jitendra Kumar Singh. Constables Vipul Kumar Tiwari and Dastagir Alam assisted.

However, police said the investigation is still ongoing. Further aspects of the case are under scrutiny.
