Tata Steel Concludes 4th Special Abled Chess Championship

JAMSHEDPUR – The 4th All India FIDE Rated Special Abled Tata Steel Chess Championship 2024 concluded today with a prize distribution ceremony at the JRD Tata Sports Complex.
"This championship marks a significant achievement in promoting diversity and inclusion within chess," stated Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President of Corporate Services at Tata Steel, who served as Chief Guest.
Event Highlights
68 participants from 16 states competed over 9 rounds.
Total prize money of ₹3,17,000 was awarded.
For the first time, accidental insurance was provided for all players, escorts, and officials.
Notable Participants
Top FIDE players included Naveen Kumar, Venkata Krishna Karthick, and Samarth J Rao.
Prominent male competitors: Rajesh Kumar Jena, Kanan V, and Kumar Dinesh.
Kanishri P stood out among female participants.
