Three-Day Sports Workshop Concludes at Arka Jain University

Experts Discuss Nutrition, Anti-Doping, and Career Opportunities in Sports

A three-day sports workshop at Arka Jain University finally concluded on Saturday, with an aim to educate students on the relationship between sports and athletes.

JAMSHEDPUR – The three-day sports workshop at Arka Jain University finally wrapped up on Saturday with a big bang. This event was designed to enhance students’ understanding of the relationship between sports and athletes and it succeedd in achieving its aim ostensibly.

Dr. Vibha Acharya, a nutrition expert from Tata Steel High Performance, provided insights into nutrition for athletes, while at the same time sh also emphasized improvements in performance, quicker recovery, and increased energy.

"Proper nutrition is essential for athletes to maintain high energy levels and ensure swift recovery after intense physical activities," Dr. Acharya stated in her learned advic.

Dr. Shivkumar Kannan, a sports pharmacist and anti-doping advisor from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, talked about the importance of introducing anti-doping, fair play, and the spirit of sportsmanship in schools and universities at an early stage keeping the overall health of the students in mind.

Focus on Career Opportunities in Sports

Dr. Anoop Kumar, Sports Manager at SAI NS NIS Patiala, also elaborated on career opportunities in sports, including professional play, coaching, sports media, sports medicine, administration, and management and delineated the fine relationship between all of these.

Wide Participation and Organization

According to the University sources, over 70 students from the university participated in the workshop.

The event was organized under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Dr. Ishwaran S. Iyer, Registrar and Director Dr. Amit Kumar Srivastava, Dean of Student Welfare Dr. Angad Tiwari, Joint Registrar Dr. Jasbir Singh Dhanjal, and Chairperson of the Sports Council Dr. Rupa Sarkar, along with the support of all Sports Council members and it achieved its aims rather comfortably..

University sources said that the workshop provided a comprehensive overview of the various aspects of sports, from nutrition and anti-doping measures to career opportunities, equipping students with valuable knowledge and skills for their future endeavors in sports.
