Jamshedpur Officials Conduct Rigorous EVM and VVPAT Inspections Ahead of Elections

Officials in Jamshedpur, led by Killu Shiv Kumar Naidu and Ananya Mittal, are rigorously inspecting EVMs and VVPATs to ensure smooth and secure elections.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a proactive move to ensure the smooth functioning and integrity of the electoral process, General Observer of Jamshedpur Lok Sabha Parliamentary Constituency, Killu Shiv Kumar Naidu, and District Election Officer, Ananya Mittal, conducted a thorough inspection of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) at Co-operative College.

During the inspection, stringent directives were issued to officials overseeing the commissioning process, emphasizing the critical importance of adhering to the Election Commission’s guidelines, particularly regarding confidentiality protocols.

The officials were instructed to uphold the sanctity of the commissioning process, ensuring that it is carried out with meticulous attention to detail and in accordance with established protocols.

The commissioning activities, including assembly-wise preparations for the upcoming elections on May 25 across the Jugsalai, Jamshedpur East, and Jamshedpur West assembly constituencies, were closely monitored.

Additionally, sealing procedures were meticulously undertaken at the Co-operative College premises under the vigilant supervision of trained personnel.

Moreover, the surveillance infrastructure, including CCTV monitoring, was assessed to ensure uninterrupted oversight round the clock.

General Observer Naidu stressed the imperative of maintaining continuous vigilance to safeguard the electoral process against any potential threats or irregularities.

Prior to the inspection at Co-operative College, the District Election Officer visited LBSM College to oversee the commissioning work of EVMs designated for the Baharagora, Ghatshila, and Potka constituencies.

Stringent measures were put in place to prevent unauthorized access to the premises, with clear instructions issued to strictly adhere to security protocols.

Furthermore, stringent guidelines were reiterated to prevent the entry of electronic devices, including mobile phones, into the commissioning hall, underscoring the uncompromising commitment to upholding the Election Commission’s directives.

The concerted efforts of General Observer Naidu, District Election Officer Mittal, and their respective teams underscore the unwavering commitment to conducting free, fair, and transparent elections in Jamshedpur.

Their vigilant oversight ensures that the electoral process proceeds with integrity, instilling public confidence in the democratic process.
