Hindu group urges administration to ban event before Durga Puja
Key Points:
• VHP opposes public meeting planned by JMM leader on Waqf Board issue
• Event scheduled for Sept 29 at Gandhi Maidan in Mango, days before Durga Puja
• VHP demands ban on rally, legal action against organizers
JAMSHEDPUR – The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has lodged a strong protest with the district administration against a proposed public meeting in Mango.
The VHP recently learned about a planned rally by JMM leader Babar Khan. The event, scheduled for September 29 at Gandhi Maidan, aims to protest the central government’s Waqf Board amendment.
Moreover, the timing of the rally, just days before Durga Puja celebrations begin on October 3, has raised concerns among VHP members. They view this as a potential threat to communal harmony.
Furthermore, the VHP Jamshedpur committee has filed complaints with the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Senior Superintendent of Police, and Sub-Divisional Officer. They are demanding a ban on the event and legal action against the organizers.
In addition, VHP representatives met with the ADM Law & Order to express their concerns. They argue that the rally could disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in Jamshedpur during the festive season.
On the other hand, the VHP claims that the Waqf Board amendment aims to improve the management of Waqf properties. They accuse opposition parties of misleading the Muslim community on this issue.
Meanwhile, VHP leaders, including Arun Singh, Ajay Gupta, and Chandrika Bhagat, were present during the submission of the protest letter. They urged the administration to take swift action to prevent any potential unrest.
