EVMs Sealed in Strong Room at Co-operative College After Peaceful Elections in Jamshedpur
Paramilitary Forces and CCTV Surveillance Ensures Security at Co-operative College
The Jamshedpur parliamentary seat witnessed peaceful elections on Saturday, with the process of reaching EVMs continuing into Sunday morning.
JAMSHEDPUR – Peaceful elections were completed for the Jamshedpur parliamentary seat on Saturday, with EVMs being transported late into the night and early Sunday morning.
On Sunday, arrangements were made to store all EVMs in the strong room at Co-operative College, which was subsequently sealed.
The sealing process was overseen by District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal, DDC Manish Kumar, and SSP Kishore Kaushal, along with representatives from all political parties.
The entire complex will remain sealed until the day of counting, with more than 100 CCTV cameras installed to monitor the area continuously.
The security of the complex is under the control of paramilitary forces, and there is a strict ban on the entry of outsiders.
Even representatives of political parties will have limited access.
Deputy Commissioner Mittal noted that the voting percentage in the district increased from 64.30 percent to 68.71 percent after voting continued late into Saturday evening.
EVMs from urban areas arrived throughout the night, and those from remote areas reached on Sunday morning before being sealed in the strong room.
SSP Kishore Kaushal confirmed that tight security arrangements are in place around Co-operative College, with paramilitary forces and district police deployed throughout the complex.
The counting of votes will take place on June 4, when the strong room will be opened and the counting process will begin.
