RANCHI – Chief Minister Hemant Soren has accused BJP leaders of targeting him due to his tribal identity, claiming that over a dozen chief ministers and central leaders are trying to remove him from office.
Soren made these allegations at a government function in Khunti district.
He referred to BJP’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’ as leaders hovering like "vultures" in Jharkhand.
Moreover, Soren promised to increase welfare assistance if the Centre returns state dues.
He pledged to hike the Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Maiyan Samman Yojana to Rs 2,000 monthly.
This increase is contingent on receiving Rs 1.36 lakh crore or its interest from the Centre.
Furthermore, Soren accused BJP of attempting to divide people along religious and caste lines.
He criticized the opposition for claiming JMMSY was launched for votes.
Additionally, the CM set a target to empower villages and reduce dependency on moneylenders.
Soren promised to deliver Rs 1 lakh to every household in the coming five years.
On the other hand, he raised concerns about recent deaths of excise constable aspirants.
The CM suggested faulty Covid vaccine doses might be behind these deaths.
He claimed that banned vaccines were continued in India, expressing personal concern.
Meanwhile, Soren unveiled 213 projects worth Rs 587 crore for Simdega and Khunti districts.
These allegations and promises come amid increasing political tensions in Jharkhand.
The CM’s statements reflect growing hostility between the state government and BJP.
Soren’s focus on his tribal identity aims to rally support among indigenous communities.
His promises of increased welfare hinge on a contentious financial dispute with the Centre.
The CM’s vaccine claims may spark controversy and demand further investigation.
This political standoff is likely to intensify as elections approach in Jharkhand.
