Group clash in Birsanagar leaves several injured, bikes vandalised, houses damaged

Locals allege attempt to grab temple land, police raids on to arrest absconding accused

Jamshedpur: The dispute between two groups of Birsanagar Zone No. 5 over some youths regularly hanging-out near a temple turned violent on Tuesday when the two groups clashed and stones were also pelted. Several persons were injured in the stone pelting as well as group assault.

The bustee residents have alleged that the supporters of Badal Karmakar group are creating trouble in the bustee and are breaching peace in the area.

The clashes between the two groups were quite violent and stones were pelted even in the presence of the police.

All the accused of the case are stated to be absconding for now. The police have deployed a large force in the area and raids are on to arrest the absconding accused.

The locals alleged that one group is eyeing the land belonging to the temple and they knowingly create problems regularly to intimidate the residents of the bustee so that they could grab the temple land easily.

The clashes left several people injured and damaged glasses of several houses. Several bikes were also vandalised.

Locals allege that the miscreants also fired bullets.

The City SP Kumar Gaurav said that police are taking all steps to arrest the absconding accused. The situation has been brought under control and legal action would be taken in the matter against the persons responsible for breaching peace in the area. He said that the locals have alleged that Badal Karmakar group attacked them and pelted stones on them.
