District Officials Conduct Thorough Inspection of EVM and VVPAT Commissioning Process
Ananya Mittal and Kishore Kaushal Emphasize Adherence to Election Commission Protocols for Free and Fair Elections
DEO Ananya Mittal and SSP Kishore Kaushal carried out a comprehensive inspection of the commissioning process for Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines.
JAMSHEDPUR – The district administration of Jamshedpur has demonstrated its unwavering commitment to conducting free, fair, and transparent elections through a meticulous inspection of the EVM and VVPAT commissioning process.
District Election Officer Ananya Mittal and Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal personally oversaw the inspection at Co-operative College, which is responsible for the commissioning of machines for the Jugsalai, Jamshedpur East, and Jamshedpur West assembly constituencies.
Mittal and Kaushal conducted a thorough review of all necessary arrangements, including the strong room, counting venue, parking area, distribution venue for voting materials, security arrangements, and the CCTV monitoring room, providing detailed instructions to ensure a seamless electoral process on the counting day.
During the inspection, Mittal emphasized the importance of resolving any doubts or issues with the machines promptly, instructing the officials stationed in the strong room to perform their duties with the utmost caution, alertness, and efficiency.
ARO (Assistant Returning Officers) and AEROs (Assistant Electoral Registration Officers) of all three assembly constituencies were present during the inspection and received specific guidelines to ensure strict adherence to the Election Commission’s protocols in both letter and spirit.
The commissioning work for the remaining three assembly constituencies is being carried out at LBSM College, while Co-operative College has been designated as the counting venue for these elections.
Mittal and Kaushal meticulously reviewed the operational status of the EVMs and VVPAT machines, underlining the significance of ensuring that all machines are fully functional and secure, which is a critical step in facilitating a smooth electoral process.
The senior officials also provided detailed instructions for the smooth departure, return, and parking of polling parties on the counting day, ensuring that all logistical aspects are well-coordinated and efficiently managed.
