District Launches Door-To-Door Voter List Verification In Jamshedpur

BLOs Conduct Thorough Check To Update Records Ahead Of Assembly Elections

Election Officer Ananya Mittal Emphasizes Accuracy And Timeliness Of Revision Process

JAMSHEDPUR – Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have started going door-to-door to verify the special voter list revision program, as instructed by District Election Officer Ananya Mittal.

"Our goal with this initiative is to create a voter list that is both accurate and up-to-date for the upcoming assembly elections," Mittal explained.

BLOs are currently working on verifying voter details, removing any outdated entries, and ensuring that eligible voters who were previously omitted are added to the list.

"We have been given instructions to remove voters who have moved, voters with duplicate entries, and voters who have passed away from the list," explained a BLO.

ROs and AEROs are overseeing the verification process to make sure it is thorough.

Mittal has decided to issue new colored voter ID cards to replace the old laminated ones.

"It is important for AROs and AEROs to regularly conduct reviews in order to speed up the revision process," Mittal emphasized.

Supervisors from the BLO (Booth Level Officer) are responsible for personally checking 20 percent of the houses and attaching official stickers.

The District Election Officer has just announced their plans for surprise inspections in order to ensure that everyone is complying with the regulations.

The importance of having an accurate voter list for fair elections is highlighted by this thorough process.
