District Election Officer Inspects Postal Ballot Facility Center Ahead of Elections

Smooth Voting Process Emphasized for Police and Essential Service Personnel at Tourist Information Centre

In preparation for the upcoming elections, District Election Officer Ananya Mittal inspected the postal ballot facility center at the Tourist Information Centre, ensuring a seamless voting process for police officers, police force, and home guards.

JAMSHEDPUR – District Election Officer Ananya Mittal, accompanied by Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, conducted a thorough inspection of the postal ballot facility center established at the Tourist Information Centre.

This center is specifically designated for police officers, the police force, and home guards to cast their votes.

During the inspection, senior district officials interacted with the Assistant Returning Officer (AERO) to gather updates on the voting progress.

They reviewed the arrangements, including the help desk guidance for voters and the availability of essential amenities such as electricity, drinking water, toilets, and fans.

Mittal stressed the importance of facilitating a smooth voting process and instructed all election duty personnel to ensure they exercise their right to vote.

The postal ballot voting process, which began on May 14, caters to polling party members, police officers, home guards, district officers, essential service personnel, and other designated voters.

The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with 1,437 voters casting their ballots on the first day.

Long queues have been observed at the Facilitation Center and Tourist Information Center located at Co-operative College.

Additionally, district personnel have been actively encouraging voter participation by sharing photos on social media and WhatsApp groups, urging all voters to turn out on May 25.

Mittal expressed satisfaction with the preparations and reiterated the importance of voting among election duty personnel.

The high voter turnout at both the Facilitation Center and the Tourist Information Center reflects the community’s commitment to participating in the electoral process.

This enthusiastic response highlights the dedication to ensuring a robust democratic outcome.

In the 2019 elections, Jamshedpur recorded a 66.4 percent voter turnout, with Baharagora at 75.46 percent, Ghatshila at 68.12 percent, Potka at 69.78 percent, Jugsalai at 70.78 percent, Jamshedpur East at 60.48 percent, and Jamshedpur West at 57.85 percent.

The current preparations aim to surpass previous participation rates and ensure a smooth and efficient voting process for all.
