A sudden fire broke out at the BSNL office located near Jumar Bridge in Ranchi on Sunday afternoon, rapidly spreading and filling the premises with thick, black smoke that darkened the sky.

RANCHI – The capital city of Ranchi witnessed another incident of fire, this time at the BSNL office near Jumar Bridge, where a sudden blaze engulfed the premises on Sunday afternoon, causing extensive damage and sending plumes of black smoke into the sky.

Multiple fire brigade vehicles rushed to the scene upon receiving information about the incident and managed to bring the fire under control after a considerable effort.

According to local sources, the fire is believed to have started due to a cable installed in the BSNL premises, which then spread to nearby bushes, causing the flames to intensify rapidly.

Sadar police station personnel, along with a team from the fire brigade and BIT OP police, promptly arrived at the location and began efforts to extinguish the blaze.

BSNL employees working at the office estimated that the fire might have caused property damage worth crores of rupees, although an official assessment has not yet been conducted.

The BSNL office campus reportedly housed spare parts, which may have contributed to the rapid spread and intensity of the fire.

The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, and authorities have not released an official statement regarding the incident.
