Marwari Community Outraged Over Jyoti Agarwal’s Murder, Demands Swift Action
Delegation Meets SSP, Calls for Immediate Arrest of Accused and Disclosure of Case Details
The Marwari community in Jamshedpur has expressed outrage over the murder of Jyoti Agarwal, wife of businessman Ravi Agarwal, near Kander Beda Chowk under Chandil police station of Seraikela Kharsawan district on Friday evening.
JAMSHEDPUR – A delegation from the community met with the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of East Singhbhum district on Saturday, demanding the swift arrest of the accused and the disclosure of the entire case.
In a meeting held at the Chamber building, businessmen strongly condemned the incident, with Mukesh Mittal describing it as an attack on the identity of the Marwari community.
Mittal highlighted that the incident clearly indicates a breakdown of law and order in the city, despite the crime occurring in Seraikela.
He appealed to the police of both districts to resolve the matter promptly and demanded that the accused, regardless of their identity, should not be spared.
The SSP has assured the delegation that the case will be solved soon.
It has come to light that Ravi Agarwal had previously lodged a complaint at Sitaramdera police station, reporting an extortion demand of Rs 25 lakh.
However, the police allegedly did not take the matter seriously, which may have emboldened the criminals to carry out their plan on Friday.
Jyoti Agarwal was shot by the criminals while she was out for dinner with her family, and she succumbed to her injuries during treatment at Tata Main Hospital (TMH).
The Marwari community’s outrage and demand for swift action underscore the gravity of the situation and the need for the police to prioritize the case.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety and security of businessmen and their families in the region.
The outcome of the police investigation and their ability to apprehend the culprits will be crucial in restoring the community’s faith in the law enforcement system.
