JAMSHEDPUR – In a shocking incident late Monday night, Rahul Lohar and three accomplices attacked Jagannath Birua in Birsanagar, Jamshedpur.
Jagannath sustained severe head injuries in the assault.
His daughters’ pleas for immediate medical help were ignored by the police, citing a lack of a vehicle.
The incident took place at Zone Number 1B under Birsanagar police station.
After the attack, Jagannath’s wife arrived and transported him to the police station by auto.
Despite his critical condition, the OD officer at the station delayed his transfer to MGM Hospital for two hours.
Witnesses reported, "The police kept everyone sitting in the station, claiming no vehicle was available."
Eventually, the injured man was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The delay in medical assistance has sparked outrage among local residents.
The police have now registered an FIR and initiated an investigation.
The station in-charge stated that they sent the injured for treatment as soon as possible.
