Esteemed Journalist’s Passing Marks the End of an Era; Eminent Personalities Pay Tributes

JAMSHEDPUR – A multitude of journalists and dignitaries attended the funeral of Radheshyam Agarwal, reflecting his significant impact on journalism and society.

Esteemed journalist Radheshyam Agarwal’s passing marks the end of an era in journalism as his mortal remains were cremated Saturday at Shiv Ghat.

He passed away during treatment at Tata Main Hospital, and his last rites were conducted at Shiva Ghat on the Baroda River in Bagbera.

A funeral procession was held before the rites, attended by numerous dignitaries, including Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta, MLA Saryu Roy, and senior journalists from the city.

The funeral procession included members of the Jugsalai Agarwal family and the Marwari community, alongside hundreds of other participants.

All the dignitaries present offered flowers and paid their respects, bidding a tearful farewell.

The impact of Radheshyam Agarwal’s contributions to journalism and society was evident in the presence of individuals from various political and social organizations, including Health Minister Banna Gupta, MLA Saryu Roy, and social worker Mukesh Mittal.

MLA Saryu Roy expressed his personal loss, recalling Agarwal as a pillar of journalism in Jharkhand and a keen analyst of socio-political issues.

The District BJP expressed deep condolences on the demise of Radheshyam Agarwal, with BJP Jamshedpur Metropolitan President Sudhanshu Ojha describing it as an irreparable loss to the journalism world.

Sudhanshu Ojha paid tribute at the Shiv Ghat in Jugsalai and consoled Agarwal’s family members, including his elder son.

BJP District General Secretary Anil Modi and Jamshedpur Metropolitan Media Incharge Prem Jha also expressed their deep condolences.

Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi acknowledged the profound loss to the world of journalism, hoping for peace for Agarwal’s soul and strength for the bereaved family.
