Jamshedpur prepares for Lok Sabha elections with enhanced security measures and improved voter accessibility.
JAMSHEDPUR – Officials have completed a comprehensive review of the deployment of police personnel at critical and vulnerable polling booths in Jamshedpur.
SSP Kishore Kaushal revealed that police officers stationed at the district’s six border checkpoints are focused on preventing the entry of illicit substances and large sums of money.
To bolster security, 12 checkpoints have been established along the state borders, with seven on the Bengal border and five on the Odisha border.
Accessibility for disabled voters and those over 85 has been a key focus, with plans to ensure they are well accommodated at polling stations.
An intermediate strong room will be constructed at each cluster to securely store both used and reserve EVMs.
DC Ananya Mittal, SSP Kishore Kaushal, and other officials visited the Jamshedpur block office to oversee the finalization of security arrangements and voting facilities.
The visit to Jamshedpur’s Karandih block office by the administrative team marks the beginning of intensive preparations for the upcoming elections.
