Campaign to Boost Voter Registration and Participation Launched

A three-day campaign aimed at increasing voter registration and electoral participation has been initiated in Jamshedpur, with a focus on informing citizens about voting processes and documents required for voter verification.

JAMSHEDPUR – A voter awareness initiative, titled #IamVerifiedVoter, has been launched to encourage greater voter engagement and streamline the registration process.

The campaign’s launch saw the attendance of key electoral officers and aimed at enhancing democratic participation.

District Election Officer Ananya Mittal led the campaign’s inauguration, emphasizing the importance of being an informed and active voter.

The initiative involves direct engagement with citizens to clarify the voting process and document requirements.

Efforts to increase voter turnout, especially in urban areas, were highlighted as a priority, with Mittal calling for community-wide participation.

The campaign facilitates voter registration through both in-person and online platforms, offering multiple avenues for citizens to verify their voter status.

Streamlining Voter Registration

Ananya Mittal discussed the accessibility of voter registration, pointing out the use of Form 6 and Form 8, along with the VoterHelp Line App and other digital resources provided by the Election Commission.

The array of documents accepted for voter verification was detailed, including not only the EPIC but also Aadhar, MNREGA Job Cards, and several others, broadening the scope for voter identification.

Engaging the Community

The #IamVerifiedVoter campaign’s launch was marked by the distribution of Form 8 and the administration of the voters’ oath, emphasizing community involvement in upcoming elections.

The event was supported by notable officials, underlining the collaborative effort to foster an informed electorate.
