Significant Candidacies Dropped in Jamshedpur Bar Association Elections, Final Candidates Announced
The Jamshedpur District Bar Association election took a dramatic turn with the cancellation of 28 nominations, affecting several key contenders for various positions.
JAMSHEDPUR – The election process for the Jamshedpur District Bar Association witnessed a significant shake-up on Tuesday as the election committee invalidated the nominations of 28 candidates, including prominent figures such as former General Secretary Anil Kumar Tiwari and presidential hopeful Shambhu Dayal.
The scrutinizing committee, led by election officers Birendra Singh and SC Baranwal, also rejected nominations for other major posts including Treasurer and Joint Secretary, impacting candidates Rathindra Nath Das, Mahesh Kumar Verma, and Prakash Kumar among others.
The cancellations were part of the rigorous vetting process, with the final list of approved candidates released following thorough examination.
Remaining in the race for President are Malkit Singh, Omkarnath Arun, Rohit Kumar, and Vimal Kumar Pandey.
The contest for General Secretary features Ajay Kumar Singh Rathore, Kumar Rajesh Rajan, and Harendra Kumar.
Vice President candidates include Anuradha Chaudhary, Bolai Panda, Sudhir Kumar, Ravi Shankar Tripathi, and Gasant Kumar Mishra.
Treasurer hopefuls are Dibyendu Mandal, Jaiprakash Bhagat, and Jitendra Kumar Dubey, while the Assistant Secretary position sees Jagdeep Singh Saini, Praveen Kumar, Pushpa Kumari, Sankata Singh, Shyam Mohan Gupta, and Shamshad Khan vying for the role.
Moreover, the race for executive member remains competitive with 32 candidates such as Abhay Kumar Singh and Alok Kumar Singh.
Members and candidates can visit the Bar Library on April 24 to inquire about the nomination cancellations.
Voting and vote counting are scheduled for May 10, ensuring a pivotal day for the association’s future leadership.
