JAMSHEDPUR – Tuhin A Sinha, a celebrity author and BJP spokesperson, today expressed concerns over Jharkhand’s law and order situation following the gang rape of a Spanish tourist in Dumka.

Sinha, who hails from Jamshedpur, remarked that the state’s rich natural beauty and tourism potential are overshadowed by safety concerns.

He made his remark in response to a Jharkhand Tourism handle’s post in which a few scenic photos were posted by the handle.

He stressed that the recent assault on a foreign tourist and her partner casts a shadow over discussions of tourism development.

According to Sinha, the state government, led by CM Champai Soren, needs to prioritize improving law and order to secure the safety of both tourists and locals.

The incident in Dumka, where a Spanish woman was gang-raped, has sparked widespread alarm regarding the security situation in the region.

Superintendent of Police Pitambar Singh Kherwar responded swiftly, detaining three suspects and launching a thorough investigation.

The victim, who was touring with her husband, received medical attention at Phulo Jhano Medical College Hospital.

Chief Minister Champai Soren has vowed that all perpetrators will face justice, with ongoing efforts to detain additional suspects and considerations for a Special Investigation Team (SIT) inquiry.

The community and authorities are called upon to enhance security measures and ensure swift justice to rebuild confidence in the state’s safety for visitors.
