Safety Ensured in SNMMCH Dhanbad Fire Incident
A fire in the dialysis wing of SNMMCH, the district’s largest government hospital, was controlled with no casualties reported.
RANCHI – A fire broke out in the dialysis wing of Shri Narayan Medical College and Hospital (SNMMCH), the district’s largest government hospital.
The incident occurred on the second floor. All patients were safely evacuated.
Firefighters reached the site promptly and controlled the fire. Media channels reported smoke spreading throughout the ward.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Hospital staff confirmed all dialysis patients were moved to another ward in time.
Previous Incidents
Last year, a fire at Hazra Clinic resulted in five deaths, including Dr. Vikas Hazra and Dr. Prema Hazra.
The fire occurred between the hospital and their residence.
Three others, a maid, a worker, and a relative, also perished in the incident.
In January 2023, a fire at Ashirwad Apartment led to 14 deaths during a wedding ceremony.
The fire took place in the Jora Phatak area.
The victims included 10 women, 3 children, and one man.
Several others were injured.
The apartment housed more than 400 people across about 100 flats.
