Armed robbers hold family hostage, escape with valuables in Dhanbad district.
In Dhanbad, a family was held hostage and robbed by armed criminals, resulting in the theft of jewelry and cash worth lakhs.
DHANBAD – SDPO Bhupendra Rawat affirmed the commitment to apprehend the perpetrators soon, highlighting ongoing investigations.
Authorities are examining local CCTV footage as part of the investigation efforts.
Following the incident, law enforcement, led by SDPO Bhupendra Rawat and Subedar Yadav, initiated a thorough inquiry.
The criminals issued threats against reporting the robbery to the police during the incident.
Rajesh Mukherjee disclosed to the robbers that they were unaware of any connections to Chhota Sarkar, a name mentioned by the assailants.
The assailants identified themselves as associates of Chhota Sarkar Prince Khan, intensifying the ordeal.
During the robbery, the criminals ransacked the residence, breaking into cupboards and scattering belongings in search of valuables.
They managed to steal twelve pieces of gold jewelry and cash amounting to one lakh rupees.
Rajesh Mukherjee recounted the assailants’ demands for five crore rupees, under the threat of violence.
The criminals forcibly entered the Mukherjee residence, subduing the family members with physical violence and threats.
Upon entry, the robbers quickly overpowered the residents, including Bengu Thakur, his wife Bharti, and their son Rajesh Mukherjee.
The robbery occurred in the Sindurpur area under Baliapur police jurisdiction, targeting Bengu Thakur’s home.
