Seraikela District Roads Witness Nighttime Robbery of Dozen Trucks Amid Police Absence
Masked road robbers struck on the Kandra-Chowka road in Seraikela district, vandalizing and looting a dozen trucks while police were absent.
SERAIKELA – In a disturbing incident, masked robbers targeted foreign trucks on the Kandra-Chowka road, vandalizing vehicles and robbing drivers.
The crime occurred in the Lakhna Singh valley area last night.
According to reports, the criminals stopped the trucks for about two hours, during which they damaged the vehicles, assaulted the drivers, and snatched money.
The robbers operated unchallenged for two hours as the police did not arrive on the scene.
Lakhna Singh valley lies on the border between Kandra and Chauka, causing jurisdictional confusion among the police.
The delayed response from the police allowed the robbers to carry out their acts without interference.
Frustrated truck drivers blocked the road in protest, parking their vehicles in the middle of the road.
It was only around 2 am that police from the Chowka police station arrived to pacify the angry drivers and clear the roadblock.
No official statement has been released regarding the incident.
This robbery is a significant concern for local authorities as such crimes have been infrequent in Seraikela for a long time.
There is fear that if these road robbers are not controlled, Lakhna Singh valley could become notorious once again.
This incident is particularly troubling as it occurred during the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, a period marked by a shortage of police personnel in many stations.
Criminals seem to have exploited this situation to commit their crimes.
Authorities are now under pressure to take swift action to prevent such incidents from recurring and to restore safety on the district’s roads.
Locals are demanding increased police presence and better coordination to handle such situations effectively.
