Bal Mela 2025 to Run for Seven Days at Sakchi

Cultural Programs and Student Competitions Planned Across Multiple Schools

JAMSHEDPUR – Swarnrekha Area Development Trust is organizing the fourth Bal Mela from November 14-20, 2025 at Bodhi Temple Ground in Sakchi with cultural programs and competitions for children.

The event coincides with Children’s Day celebrations. It focuses on education, values, arts and culture. Moreover, it aims to provide entertainment for families.

The trust seeks to promote creativity among children. It also emphasizes social awareness through this platform. Additionally, cultural values will be highlighted throughout the week.

Cultural programs will feature dance, drama and music. Group presentations will showcase folk arts. Furthermore, various performances will engage young audiences.

Drawing and painting competitions will involve multiple schools. Quiz contests will test students’ knowledge. Besides, science exhibitions and craft shows are planned.

Local women’s self-help groups will display indigenous products. Swadeshi items will be available for purchase. However, emphasis remains on promoting local artisans.

The entertainment zone includes swings and games for children. Food stalls will offer traditional cuisine. On the other hand, modern food options are available.

An environmental protection exhibition will raise awareness. Cleanliness campaigns will be part of displays. In addition, sustainability messages will be promoted.

Kerala Public School students will participate in various events. DBMS, Loyola and Hill Top institutions are invited. Meanwhile, Narayan Mission School will also join activities.

Invitation letters have been sent to participating schools. The trust has reached out to educational institutions. Consequently, widespread participation is expected across the city.

Certificates will be awarded to competition winners. Trophies will recognize outstanding performances. Moreover, attractive gifts will be distributed among participants.

The closing ceremony is scheduled for November 20. A distinguished educationist will attend as chief guest. Besides, a social worker will distribute prizes.

Previous editions of Bal Mela have featured yoga competitions. Drawing contests remained popular in past years. However, this year’s event promises expanded programming.
