In a concerted effort to bolster road safety awareness, Tata Steel’s West Bokaro Division kicks off Road Safety Month from January 18 to February 17, 2024, with an array of activities aimed at employees, the community, and school children.
WEST BOKARO – Road Safety Month was inaugurated on January 18, 2024, by Anurag Dixit, GM of Tata Steel’s West Bokaro Division, alongside PK Singh and Mahesh Prasad of the National Colliery Mazdoor Union.
This initiative is marked by the collaboration between the West Bokaro Security Department and TSF, engaging the community, particularly women from nearby villages, in road safety awareness sessions.
The campaign’s beginning was heralded with a rally, supported by Ghatotand police and safety teams, to disseminate road safety knowledge among the local populace, highlighting the critical importance of adhering to safety norms such as the use of seat belts and helmets.
In an effort to deepen the impact, the Safety Department has organized a variety of activities including the ‘Roko-Toko’ program, safety dialogues, quizzes, and awareness sessions at Shramik Vidya Niketan High School, engaging students in the importance of road safety measures.
The division’s Outbound Logistics Department and other sectors have hosted events focused on defensive driving, road safety quizzes, and filmmaking competitions to further enhance awareness.
Additionally, a session aimed at fostering community participation was held in the TSF Conference Room, underscoring the significance of helmet use among women and soliciting their commitment to road safety.
The campaign’s extensive programming promises a comprehensive approach to road safety, engaging various stakeholders from employees to school children, and emphasizes Tata Steel’s dedication to safety in the West Bokaro Division.
