DC Karn Satyarthi Springs Surprise Check on Jamshedpur Collectorate

JAMSHEDPUR – Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi conducted an unannounced inspection of multiple offices within the Jamshedpur collectorate complex, reviewing discipline, staff attendance, cleanliness and overall work culture.

During the surprise round, he visited a wide range of departments. These included Social Security, Revenue, Election, Nazarat, Legal Branch, Court Room, Social Welfare, DIO Office, Jhaarnet, General Branch, Warehouse, and UID sections. The collectorate inspection focused primarily on assessing administrative efficiency and employee conduct.

Satyarthi examined attendance registers with meticulous care. Moreover, he sought detailed information about staff members who were found absent from their posts. All office heads received strict directives on three key areas. They were told to maintain proper cleanliness in their sections, keep all registers accurately updated and ensure security arrangements were always in proper order.

On the other hand, he laid special stress on regular biometric attendance of all employees. He also directed that tasks be completed within fixed timelines. In addition, all official documents were to be kept in an orderly and organized manner.

A notable directive issued during the surprise inspection concerned condemned assets. Satyarthi ordered that all unused furniture and machinery lying idle within the collectorate premises be collected without delay. These items are to be auctioned at the district administration level at the earliest possible time.

The DC also inspected the designated parking and waiting areas within the compound. He interacted directly with ordinary citizens who had come to the collectorate for various purposes. He heard their grievances on the spot and directed the officers concerned to take prompt remedial action. Such DC directives have become more frequent in East Singhbhum as the administration has stepped up accountability drives in recent months.

Present during the inspection were Deputy Development Commissioner Nagendra Paswan, Nazarat Deputy Collector David Balihar, DTO Dhananjay and Legal Branch In-charge Chandrajeet Singh, along with other senior officials.
