Tata Steel Wraps Up Men’s Water Polo Championship with High Energy Finale

Enthusiasm Peaks as Tata Steel Concludes Inter-Departmental Men’s Water Polo Tournament

The Tata Steel Sports Department successfully hosted its Inter-Departmental Men’s Water Polo Championship on May 2-3, 2024, at the Swimming Pool Training Centre within the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur.

JAMSHEDPUR – Over the course of two days, the Tata Steel Sports Department organized a spirited Water Polo Championship, drawing robust participation and showcasing athletic excellence.

The championship saw an impressive turnout with 260 players across 26 Tata Steel units plunging into the competition.

Leading the event, Mukul Vinayak Choudhari, Chief of Sports at Tata Steel, along with Sanjay Kumar Singh, Chairman of the Sports Advisory Committee, and Vibhuti Dhand Adesara, Head of Events & Training Centre, were present as the chief guests.

Demonstrating superior skill and teamwork, the Coke Plant team clinched the championship title, while the Power System team and the EQMS team secured the runner-up and second runner-up positions respectively.

The event was rigorously supervised by noted technical officials Firoze Khan and Yuvraj, ensuring strict adherence to the rules and fair play.

This championship not only highlighted Tata Steel’s ongoing commitment to nurturing sportsmanship but also provided a valuable opportunity for its employees to engage in healthy competition and display their sporting talents.
